Chart Tools

Drawing tools, annotations, and replay mode

Annotate, Measure, and Replay

Profitabul provides a full suite of drawing tools to annotate your charts, mark key levels, measure risk/reward, and analyze volume structure. Combined with replay mode, you can practice reading orderflow on historical data at your own pace.

Line Tools

Trend lines, horizontals, rays, and measurement lines for marking levels and directions

Fibonacci

Retracement levels with standard ratios for pullback analysis

Volume Tools

Anchored VWAP and Fixed Volume Profile for custom volume analysis

Replay Mode

Step through historical data bar-by-bar to practice and review

Trend Line — A line drawn between two points to mark directional trends. Click to set the start point, then click again to set the end point.
Horizontal Line — A horizontal line across the entire chart at a specific price. Use for support, resistance, and key levels.
Vertical Line — A vertical line at a specific time. Useful for marking session opens, news events, or time-based levels.
Extended Line — A trend line that extends infinitely in both directions beyond its anchor points.
Ray — A line that starts at one point and extends infinitely in one direction. Good for projecting future support/resistance.
Cross Line — A crosshair that draws both a horizontal and vertical line through a single point.
Info Line — A measurement line that displays the price difference, percentage change, and time between two points. Essential for measuring risk/reward before entry.
Trend Angle — A line that displays the angle in degrees between two points. Helps quantify the steepness of trends.

Draw rectangles and boxes on the chart to highlight zones of interest:

  • Rectangle / Box: Click and drag to draw a rectangular area on the chart
  • Fill mode: Draw a solid filled rectangle with adjustable opacity
  • Outline mode: Draw just the border of the rectangle for cleaner annotations

Use rectangles to mark supply/demand zones, consolidation ranges, or areas of interest for future reference.

Fibonacci retracement levels help identify potential support and resistance during pullbacks. Draw from a swing low to a swing high (for uptrends) or swing high to swing low (for downtrends).

Standard levels:

  • 0.0: Start of the move
  • 0.236: Shallow retracement (strong trend)
  • 0.382: Common retracement in strong trends
  • 0.500: Half-way retracement (not a true Fibonacci ratio but widely used)
  • 0.618: The "golden ratio"—the most-watched retracement level
  • 0.786: Deep retracement, often the last chance for continuation
  • 1.0: Full retracement of the move

How to draw: Select the Fibonacci tool, click on the swing low, then click on the swing high. The levels are drawn automatically between those two points.

Anchored VWAP — A Volume Weighted Average Price calculated from any anchor point you choose. Unlike the standard session VWAP, anchored VWAP lets you measure the average price from a specific event — a swing high, earnings, session open, or any significant bar.
Fixed Volume Profile (FVPR) — A volume profile computed over a specific range you select on the chart. Click and drag to define the range, and the tool displays the volume distribution, POC, and value area for that exact period.

Both tools are powerful for identifying where significant volume has been transacted relative to custom reference points, rather than relying solely on session-based calculations.

Customize the appearance and behavior of any drawing by clicking on it to open the properties panel:

  • Color: Choose any color for the line or shape
  • Line width: Adjust thickness from thin to bold
  • Line style: Solid, dashed, or dotted
  • Fill opacity: For shapes, control the transparency of the fill
  • Visibility toggle: Show or hide a drawing without deleting it
  • Lock: Prevent accidental moves or edits
  • Z-index: Control layering order when drawings overlap

Persistence: All drawings are saved per symbol and stay anchored to their original time and price when you switch timeframes.

Customize the overall chart appearance from the settings menu:

  • Theme: Switch between Mocha (dark) and Latte (light) themes
  • Indicator visibility: Toggle individual indicators on or off
  • Candle colors: Customize up/down candle and wick colors
  • Grid lines: Show or hide horizontal and vertical grid lines
  • Session backgrounds: Color-code different trading sessions (RTH, ETH, Asian, European)

Replay mode lets you step through historical data bar-by-bar, turning any past trading session into a practice environment. The chart loads up to your chosen starting point, then reveals data one bar at a time.

Controls:

  • Play / Pause: Auto-advance bars or pause to analyze
  • Speed: Adjust playback speed from slow to fast
  • Step forward: Advance one bar at a time
  • Step back: Go back one bar to review

Use cases:

  • Practice reading orderflow: Build pattern recognition without real-time pressure
  • Review journal trades: Replay the exact market conditions from a past trade
  • Backtest ideas: Walk through historical data to test a new strategy concept
Pro Tip
Use Info Lines to measure risk/reward before entering a trade—they show the exact price difference and percentage between two points. Draw one from your entry to your stop and another to your target.
