Ranking Your Strategies

The Playbook Leaderboard ranks all your trading playbooks by key performance metrics. It answers the question every trader should ask: "Which of my strategies actually makes money, and which should I stop trading?"

Ranking Metrics

Win Rate — Percentage of trades that are profitable. Important for psychology but not the only metric.

Profit Factor — Gross profit / gross loss. Above 1.5 is good, above 2.0 is excellent. The best single metric for strategy quality.

Avg R-Multiple — Average risk-adjusted return per trade. Normalizes across different position sizes and instruments.

Sharpe Ratio — Risk-adjusted return accounting for consistency. Higher = more consistent results.

Trade Frequency — How often the setup occurs. A great strategy you can only trade once a month has limited value.

How to Use It

Allocate more capital and focus to your top-performing playbooks. Review and optimize mid-tier playbooks — small improvements can move them up. Retire or paper-trade bottom-tier playbooks. The goal is to concentrate on your highest-edge setups rather than diluting with mediocre ones.

Pro Tip

Minimum 30 trades before drawing conclusions about a playbook. With fewer trades, the statistics are too noisy to be reliable. Keep paper-trading new playbooks until you hit the 30-trade threshold.
